Leadership in Hope

Deputy Secretary Joan Erney and the Executive Council of the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services are leaders in hope.

Through their work over the last 7 years, they have extended this hope to the farthest reaches of the Commonwealth. It has created an awakening in people in every walk of our behavioral health system to their own potential, as well as, the awareness that they are a part of something very big.

Stakeholders have been empowered by the hope of Team Erney to know they are a part of the team. A team that has moved mountains, both in personal and systemic change in the Pennsylvania behavioral health system.

The "I’m the Evidence Campaign Committee" has been dedicated to proliferating the message that within every one of us is the evidence: of hope, achievement, encouragement and possibility. It was an imperative of the group to offer to Joan and her team at OMHSAS messages and remembrances of the impact they have had – on each one of us and on behalf of others whose lives will be forever changed due to their leadership in hope.
